LAST WEEK'S COLLEGE & NFL GAMES - INSIDE THE STATS...

As we head into RIVALRY WEEK in college football, the BCS race keeps getting interesting.  Is it possible Ohio State can slide into the No.2 slot and make another Championship game appearance?  Stay tuned.

Looking inside the stats at last week’s college games there were a total of 10 teams that won ‘inside-out’ In The Stats (won the game but lost the yardage).  Those who one the game but lost by 100 or more yards are designated with an (*) asterisk. These ITS teams included: *Arizona, Arkansas, Eastern Michigan, Georgia, *Louisiana Monroe, Louisiana Tech, LSU, Minnesota, Rutgers and *Utah State.

Navy remains the only team to have gained 200 or more rushing yards in every game to date. They are also the No.1 rushing team in the land, averaging 357 RYPG.

From the PLAYBOOK MIDWEEK ALERT weekly stat rankings report, the STAT KINGS (teams that have won every game in the stats this season) include: BYU, Hawaii and West Virginia.

The STAT QUEENS (teams that have lost every game in the stats this season) include:  Florida International and Utah State.

Other interesting ITS tidbits… ITS STREAKERS, not including the STAT KINGS and STAT QUEENS above, (and the amount of games involved in current streak) that will be playing this week or next include: HOT - Arizona State (+4), Arkansas (+4), Boise State (+5), Bowling Green (+3), Central Florida (+5), Clemson (+5), Florida (+3), Kansas (+4), Missouri (+3), South Florida (+4), Tulsa (+4), Utah (+3), Virginia Tech (+3), Washington (+4)… NOT: Army (-8),  Buffalo (-5), Duke (-5), Idaho (-4),  Kent State (-3), Middle Tennessee State (-3), Mississippi (-3), Navy (-3), New Mexico (-3), North Carolina (-3), SMU (-7), Stanford (-8), Syracuse (-3), Texas A&M (-3), UCLA (-3), UAB (-6), UTEP (-4), Wyoming (-3).

On the NFL front, the only one STAT KING (teams that have won every game in the stats this season) remains, New England.

San Francisco’s stat win over Seattle last week was their first of the season, removing them as the last STAT QUEEN of the season.

Late Phones went 5-3-1 last week, but we came up short on our 10* College Game of the Year selection when Michigan mysteriously failed to show up for their game against Ohio State.
