LAST WEEK'S COLLEGE & NFL GAMES - INSIDE THE STATS...

The upsets just keep coming in college football this season.  Ohio State was unseated from it’s No.1 position while the quest for the BCS continues.

Looking inside the stats at last week’s college games there were a total of 12 teams that won ‘inside-out’ In The Stats (won the game but lost the yardage).  Those who one the game but lost by 100 or more yards are designated with an (*) asterisk. These ITS teams included: Central Michigan, Iowa, Iowa State, Kentucky, *Michigan State, Mississippi State, New Mexico, Oregon State, *San Diego State, Southern Cal, Tennessee, and Troy.

Navy remains the only team to have gained 200 or more rushing yards in every game to date. They are also the No.1 rushing team in the land, averaging 367 RYPG.

From the PLAYBOOK MIDWEEK ALERT weekly stat rankings report, the STAT KINGS (teams that have won every game in the stats this season) include: BYU, Hawaii, LSU, and West Virginia.

The STAT QUEENS (teams that have lost every game in the stats this season) include:  Florida International and Utah State.

Other interesting ITS tidbits… ITS STREAKERS, not including the STAT KINGS and QUEENS above, (and the amount of games involved in current streak) include: HOT - Arizona State (+4), Arkansas (+4), Boise State (+4), Boston College (+7), Central Florida (+4), Clemson (+5), Illinois (+3), Kansas (+3), Nevada (+8), Oklahoma (+3), South Florida (+3), Tulsa (+3), Washington (+3)… NOT: Army (-7), Baylor (-5), Buffalo (-4), Connecticut (-5), Duke (-4), Idaho (-3), Iowa (-4), Middle Tennessee State (-3), Mississippi (-3), Navy (-3), New Mexico State (-3), SMU (-6), Stanford (-8), Temple (-3), Texas A&M (-3), UCLA (-3), UAB (-5), UTEP (-3).

On the NFL front, the only one STAT KING (teams that have won every game in the stats this season) remains, New England.

San Francisco remains the lone STAT QUEEN (teams that have lost every game in the stats this season) this year.
