The Green Monkey has been retired.
The horse brought in a world record $16 million at public auction back in 2006 when he was purchased by the trio of Magnier, Tabor, and Smith…the deepest pockets in the game.
The hype that came with him was so much that it was virtually impossible for him to live up to it on the racetrack. And he didn’t with career racing lines of 3 starts, zero wins, zero seconds, two thirds, and one fourth.
His stud fee is a measly $5,000. That means he’ll need to produce 3,200 babies in order for him to recoup his $16 million dollar sales tag. Good luck.
