On Monday evening a good friend of mine and I were watching some NCAA College Basketball when he asked if I could get the Loyola Maryland vs. Siena game on TV as he had made a $500 wager on the Siena Saints. We watched as the Saints built a 20 point leads with about four minutes to go only to see the Saints go into the famous milk the clock mode and the lead shrunk to just 15 points with 30 seconds to go. Nothing to fear as Siena had the ball but would need to put up a shot with under 20 seconds to go. We watched as a senior guard passed up a clear path to the rim electing to pass back out past the three point line wildly and out of bounds. Here it comes we thought - the famous uncontested three point shot for the cover. Up it went and the shot was off - rebound Siena. As the same guard who threw the ball away on the previous psession crossed half court with a series of un-Marcus Haynes like dribbles between his legs the clock wound down. As this Hotdog looked up in the Saints Student Section and not taking care of the ball a slick Greyhound defender slid in behind him - stole the ball - went in for the dunk and cover. Siena Head Coach Fran McCaffery was livid as he unleashed a tirade at the Loyola Maryland coaching staff and had to be restrained. The coach should of unleashed on his guard for not protecting the ball as I also had to restrain my friend from damaging my TV as he was both schocked and -$550 for a college kids stupidity. Just When You Think That You Have Seen It All. As they always say -"It ain't over till it's over".
