One year after the Cleveland Browns progressed from 4-12 to 10-6, they are developing into a serious contender for the 2008 playoffs. GM Phil Savage's bold moves and Owner Randy Lerner's check book are making it happen in Cleveland, Ohio. Cleveland signed QB Derek Anderson to a three year contract and will keep him as their starter. To bolster an already potent offense they signed former Patriots receiver Donte' Stallworth to a seven year deal. The Browns swung some heavy trades to beef up their defense and add 700 pounds of defensive linemen. Corey Williams comes over from Green Bay and Shaun Rogers from Detroit. Cleveland now has two young quarterbacks in Derek Anderson & Brady Quinn. They have strong offensive & defensive lines and added anther offensive weapon to their offense. The downside was no picks in the first three rounds of the draft but Cleveland Fans have waited long enough and want a title. Savage may produce one sooner than expected but Randy Lerner is sure going to Pay Big for it. Some owners just love the thought of new jewelry for their fingers.
